Sammy IS the best horse at Westernaires, there is no question!

Sammy is about 16.3hh and is a 19 year old buckskin Morgan Gelding. He used to be a Red Team horse until he was diagnosed with ringbone. (Ringbone is an inflammation of the lower leg joints.)

Sammy will always come up to you in the pasture, especially if you have a carrot, which is his favorite treat. Sammy is very speedy, but wont go until you ask him too.

Sammy is my baby because he taught me a HUGE lesson! He taught me to never judge a book by its cover, and that sometimes life surprises you.

Most think that Sammy is mean, but he isn't. He doesn’t like his space bubble invaded by other horses, but if you tell him that he is ok, he will be fine! He is a big teddy bear and loves to be told that he is pretty.

All in all, Sammy is the 'love of my life' and the best horse in the world!

Sammy, in my opinion is the best horse out here!

He's my number one, favorite horse. I can tell you that after all the stories I had heard of Sammy before I rode him I was pretty scared because I didn't want to get hurt or anything. But let me tell you that anything bad you hear about this horse is most likely to be wrong. This horse is just misunderstood a lot but he is very lovable and a great ride.

Usually if your the one grooming him in the morning and you go to catch him in the pasture pay attention to whether he's near the other horses and he's just standing there, or if he's far away from them and is being mean to them. You'll usually be able to tell then if you need to make sure he has a lot of spacing during your class or if he'll be fine standing close to the other horses. He's an excellent horse to ride and even though he's 20 he still has a lot of spunk in him, but good spunk.

Sammy is a great horse! He loves people and is a great ride.

Sammy is huge and has a really heavy saddle. In in AA and I still need help putting his saddle on his back.

Sammy used to be on Red Team when he was younger, but now he is 20-years old and has ring bone. Now he only does Tenderfeet, Juniors and Vaulting.

If you ever ride Sammy don't be afraid of him, he is a good horse and "Keep your spacing"!

Sammy is by far one of the most known and loved horses in the Westernaires.

In his late 20's Sammy, a big Morgan buckskin, is still runnin'. This year he was taken out of Red Division due to ring bone in his legs. This injury hasn't done much to slow him down and he still enjoys participating in Vaulting, Tenderfoot and Junior classes.

Sammy's large size (standing somewhere around 16 hh) and cranky attitude towards the other horses is often intimidating, but people learn to love him.
