For more detailed information on our master plan for the future, read Mr. Keller's column from the Spring/Summer issue of Boots and Saddles.

Take a look at some
construction photos!
After growing for 40 years at Fort Westernaire, we're bursting at the seams.Master Plan Drawing We have now finalized a new arrangement with Jefferson County that allows us to start work on a new master plan for facilities improvements.

We're very excited about the changes in store, including:

  • a new indoor show arena with 1,000 seats;
  • a replacement for the collapsed Blue Arena (steel erection began Nov. 14!);
  • two new outdoor arenas;
  • more space for our horses to stable and graze;
  • a new classroom building and caretaker's residence.
To accomplish all that we have planned will require a great deal of help from members and the rest of the community, including fundraising, donations of materials, and skilled and unskilled labor. As our new facilities take shape, we'll all have good reason to be proud of what we've done to take Westernaires into the 21st century!

How you can help make our plan a reality:

  • Your donation of cash or material is welcome!
  • Current volunteers and members can buy an inscribed brick for the entry foyer of the new building for $100.
  • We will need lots of volunteer labor of all kinds, from welders and earthmoving equipment operators to anyone who can use a shovel!
