Join Us at Our Party! You can come and have fun without purchasing a dinner and we hope everyone will come. Everything is just about complete for the 60th Anniversary Party Friday afternoon and evening and the Anniversary picture for Saturday afternoon. Festivities begin at 3 in front of the Equestrian Center with the carnival games and activities. They will run until 7:00 p.m. People can begin eating dinner about 4:00 and we will serve until 7:00. It will take a bit of time to serve everyone and get through the chow line. We have tables and chairs to seat 500 and we expect to feed 1000 so when you have finished your meal, please give up your seat so someone else can have their meal. The first live entertainment will begin at 6 and the second will follow later. Throughout the evening, the silent auction will be going on, and you should check any item you wish to bid on regularly to be sure someone doesn't over bid you. We expect the live auction around 8, so don't leave early. Some of the items are really special. We have had a committee hard at work and don't want to forget to thank them. Jean Mensendick was chair with Debbie Koop, Patty Zadel, Paul Gortzig, Chris Gortzig and John Pontious. They have all worked very hard to create a special evening for all of you to enjoy. The 60th anniversary picture will be taken on Saturday afternoon in the Rodeo Arena. Everyone should be costumed and ready to be in place by 3:00 p.m. All owners will be on horseback and all other riders will be in costume, Tenderfeet and volunteers will be in uniform. The picture will be available to all who want one and there will be a framed copy hanging in the museum together with all of the other anniversary pictures. Barbeque Dinner All are welcome, whether you have made a reservation or not.There will be dinner tickets for sale at the event, as long as the food holds out. Please, all of you who can come, make reservations if possible, but let us all be together and have a great time. Riders and their families are asked to register for the 60th anniversary party by making reservations for the dinner. Dinner will be a barbecue dinner with plenty of sides and other good things. Dinner is $15 per person. We have worked very hard to make the price at a level that gets us good quality food at a price everyone can afford. You should make reservations with your Base Team monitor and pay your Base Team monitor before August 1. The festivities begin with the carnival at 3 p.m. on August 14 and dinner will begin at 4. We have live entertainment scheduled, a silent auction, a live auction and much fun for all. We look forward to seeing the entire organization at the event and we hope that many alumni will also be present with their families. We have also invited many dignitaries to join us as well as many friends of Westernaires. Plan to come and join the party.
